South Puget Sound Rotary meets on Friday mornings at 7:00 a.m. at the Viewpoint banquet room at Tugboat Annies Restaurant on the Olympia waterfront. We consider ourselves morning people who are enthusiastic about Rotary and Rotary's mission in the world.  We enjoy working together in accomplishing a wide variety of service projects. We welcome guests from near and far with hot coffee, a hardy breakfast with real bacon and a spirited meeting with warm Rotary friendship.

We have two major fundraisers each year. The Rose Sale is held in the fall. SPS Rotarians procure rose orders and deliver on a specified date in the fall. Our annual auction takes place at The Great Wolf Lodge the last Saturday in April. We raise money to support local and international community projects and provide scholarships. Each year at the auction, we select a specific need to designate a portion of our auction proceeds. Past beneficiaries include water well projects and Rotaplast on an international level and Safeplace, Family Support Center and the Hands on Children's Museum locally.

Some of the local service projects we have undertaken include working at the Left Foot Organics farm, participating in the United Way Day of Caring, assisting the "Out of the Woods" homeless shelter with repairs to their facilty, preparig and serving meals to Camp Quixote residents and our random acts of kindness.

Rotary places a high value on vocational performance, and South Puget Sound Rotary expresses its commitment to vocations by supporting students preparing to enter the business world.  We send students to leadership training and we provide college and vocational training  scholarships to graduating seniors from the Rainier, Tenino, Rochester and Oakville High Schools and New Market Skills Center.  We also sponsor an Interact Club at Rainier High School.

During the winter holidays, we provide gifts to programs supporting low income and homeless families as well as providing funds to the Tenino Food Bank.

Annually we host a high school age exchange student for the school year and sponsor a high school student to live abroad for the year. We have hosted students from France, Mexico, Italy, Slovakia, Poland and Spain, to name just a few.

We are a diverse, enthusiastic group of people that enjoy working together to help those needing assistance in our community and attacking thirst, hunger and disease in the larger world community. We believe in adding the fun element to all that we do.

We warmly invite anyone interested in being involved with a spirited service club to come be with us at 7:00 AM any Friday morning at Tugboat Annies Viewpoint banquet room on the Olympia waterfront.
